Andaman Package - A Journey to the Jarawa Tribe Village

I've been considered the most exciting person in my friend-circle, and this is because I always end up having unusual adventures. However, even I don't know the reason behind it; maybe I'm never too afraid to leave my comfort zone. But one thing I'm quite sure is that I love traveling more than anything else. Meeting new souls, discovering newfangled places and undergoing unknown customs & cultures excite me a lot. And the best thing is that it gives me endless material for my writing.
Last month, I along with three of my friends got a chance to explore one the most isolated regions at Indian subcontinent - the Andaman Islands. The entire trip was splendid; however the best experience was to visit Island's Jarawa tribes. When I mentioned my idea about visiting a tribe community, our tourist-guide immediately suggested us a village in South Andaman Islands where this unique civilization dwells. To get to the village, we had to drive through miles of mystic rain-forests and vast waterways. Though the journey was tough, as the road was dirty with loads of dust and somewhere muddy as well, it was really an enchanting experience full of delights and excitement.

After a baffling journey of about two hours, we arrived at the village of Jarawas - perhaps the most adivasi indigenous people of Andaman Islands. They have inhabited the islands for several years, and at present they are estimated to be about 350 in numbers. The Jarawas have many similarities with African tribe people, and are living with their own cultures and traditions. Though they are very excited about visitors, many of them feel it a danger for their privacy, cultures and social values. These tribes live on honey and forest fruits like banana and coconuts. They also hunt for pigs and deer, and eat them after cooking. Many of them live in huts made of woods and leaves. However, some of them still live a nomadic life in jungles.

According to the plan suggested by our tourist guide, we directly headed to the hut of the chief. However, on the way, we had been surrounded by many children and women. They were talking strangely, of course about us. Women and many young girls were carrying babies on their backs. Kids were nude, and shouting in their own language. We met to the chief. He was a nice person, and talked a lot about their cultures, traditions and the feelings about the tourists and government. Hanuman, our guide, acted as a translator. By the conversation, it was clear that they don't like any interfere in their life. After that, we met many locals including some women, and offered them the food we had come up with. They seemed to be happy, and thanked us in their own way. I asked a child to give me one of his ornaments he was wearing around his neck, but he denied even after offering a good some of money. We didn't force him more, and gave him some food to eat. We tasted their food, and spent some time with very small kids. Watching them dancing in groups was also a great experience. Life of these people is really hard, but they are strong enough to survive with. It was really the experience of a lifetime for all of us. We enjoyed it a lot and came back with some wonderful memories.

Nowadays visiting these remote areas is not a hassle anymore. One can buy his suitable Andaman tour packages through searching over Internet.
